Privacy Policy
Last updated July 19, 2026. This notice explains how Miso handles information for the website and iOS and Android apps.
Summary
Miso stores the account and meal-planning information you choose to save, such as recipes, meal plans, pantry counts, grocery lists, preferences, nutrition targets, and household-linked app data. Miso also processes content you choose to create or upload, including profile photos, recipes, posts, comments, and other in-app content. Product analytics, crash reports, and diagnostics help us operate and improve the service.
Information we collect
- Account details such as email address, display name, username, and authentication identifiers.
- Meal planning data such as saved recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, pantry and freezer inventory, preferences, allergies, and nutrition targets.
- Optional health and fitness information you choose to connect or enter, such as activity or body measurements used to personalize nutrition targets.
- Photos and other user-generated content you choose to upload or create, including profile photos, recipes, posts, comments, and search activity.
- Billing entitlement status from the app store purchase flow. Miso does not store card details directly.
- Support details you send us, including device, app version, screenshots, reproduction steps, and account context.
- Limited product analytics, diagnostics, and crash data used to operate and improve the apps.
Health and fitness data
Health and fitness connections are optional. When you grant permission or enter information yourself, Miso may use permitted activity or body-measurement data to personalize nutrition targets. Miso does not use this information for medical diagnosis and does not send raw health samples to product analytics by default.
How we use information
- Provide meal planning, recipe, pantry, grocery, nutrition, assistant, social, and household features.
- Sync app data across signed-in sessions and household contexts.
- Process purchases, restore entitlements, and resolve billing support issues.
- Detect abuse, debug failures, improve reliability, and respond to support or privacy requests.
- Comply with legal, security, fraud-prevention, and consent-audit obligations.
Service providers
Miso uses infrastructure and service providers to operate the app, including Supabase for authentication and application data, RevenueCat and the app stores for subscription entitlement handling, PostHog for product analytics, and Sentry for crash reporting and diagnostics. These providers process information on our behalf under their applicable terms and security controls. Miso does not sell personal information.
Data controls
In Miso on iOS or Android, open Profile > Privacy & data to manage privacy controls, request data help, or delete your account while signed in. If you cannot access the app, email support@misoapp.ca from the address on your account.
Data deletion
Account deletion removes your profile, saved recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, pantry data, personalization data, and account-linked household and social data that Miso can delete for your account. See Account deletion for the steps and request path. Some records may be retained when required for security, billing, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or proof of consent.
Children
Miso is not intended for people under 14. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact support so we can review the account.
